Good Morning!
I'm way behind on the quilt along, as I see the latest and LAST post for it on the blogs of the lovely ladies hosting! Yipes! I am getting on it this weekend! Working is really cramping my style these days....
Here are a few quick photos of my slow but steady progress:
I am all about salads for summertime. I get easily bored of the same foods, and I get the food blahs quite often. In the summer months, I find more motivation to make new things, and I'm not a by the book kind of cook. I am a "what do I have on hand" kind. This Victoria Day weekend was our first BBQ of the year, and I was inspired to create a salad for the occasion (and using on hand items from my fridge!)
This salad is easy to make. The most taxing part is waiting for the quinoa to cook! Or maybe the veggie slicing... either way, it only took about 4 minutes to throw together mix and chill. That's it. Ready to serve.

Did you feel the earthquake this morning where you are?? It was a pretty scary 30 seconds here! Some items fell off my walls!
I've been slacking in the recipe sharing department (and the laundry department, dishes, dusting, etc), but I think I'm actually coming up for air this weekend! Could be because I will enjoy an entire week off starting Sunday! YAY!
Last week (Week 2 of the Quilt-Along) was the cutting phase of the project. I am ALMOST done with the cutting. I started on time, and then just didn't do anymore until yesterday. I don't know what happened there, and I have no excuse.... But here is the progress!
As of lately with the full-time job thing, we are shorter on time. I wanted to make sure we didn't forget Mother's Day (like we sometimes do...).
The boys & I headed out shopping, and ended up at their favourite store. (They LOVE Dollarama!). I saw these cute boxes and got a super idea.....
