10 Homemade Valentine Goodies {Perfect Pins}

Its been a long time (16 weeks to be precise) since I've posted what was supposed to be weekly Perfect Pins.  I'm going to give it another whirl, and hopefully it won't get swept under the rug again!

I've been collecting a bunch of recipes in preparation for school party goodies!  I love sending in homemade treats to the boys' classes.  I still haven't narrowed it down.  They all look fantastic!!

DIY Washi Tape Shelf

I've been in super house organizing mode and this reminded me of a project that I started at the end of the summer... and then shoved into the basement because I got sidetracked.  I walked past it often and longed to finish.. but other things just kept coming up. You know... laundry for 5 people, meals, toilets, etc. 

Well, this morning I put an end to the insanity and finished the project!!  

Middle Man Turns 5 - DIY Skylanders SwapForce Birthday Party

This weekend we had a blast celebrating our middle son's 5th birthday.  He turns the big 5!  Can you believe it?  I am still wondering where the time has gone and how my little boys are growing up so fast!!

His dream was to have a Skylanders Swap Force party theme, and he's been asking for this since last year when he saw the previews for the game that wasn't even released yet!  He has repeatedly asked for this theme over the last year and I knew that was my only choice for party theme.  

DIY Family Organizer

As part of my mission to conquer the house, I spent very little time and money making this organizer for some of the paperwork, books, homework, etc. that clutters our kitchen island regularly (permanently). The boys both bring home loads of papers almost daily.  We have no real space for keeping track of what's on the go, what's due soon, etc.  

I picked up this 5-drawer organizer during Boxing Week sales so it was half price.  I was pretty excited about that... When I was driving home from the store I was thinking of ways I could label the drawers for easy use and also to give it a nice visual.  Then I got the best idea to put the vinyl I've been desperate to use to great use!  

Organizing 101: Where Do I Start?

This year, my one and only New Year's Resolution is to organize our house.  I'm talking top to bottom, leaving no space unturned!  I am having a HUGE bout of nesting this week and I have done not too much about it!  I have been taking on little tasks here and there (I organized and decluttered a utensil drawer in the kitchen, and I created a family organization station to control the paper piles that seem to always form on my kitchen island.  

I feel happy to have completed those little tasks, but I think if I'm going to conquer this job then I need to make a game plan and do some BIG jobs.  I'm going to break it down by room, and then by task I think. This way, I can tackle every corner of the house with a purpose and get things done!
