Our Valentine's Adventure... A Little Late Posting

This year we did home made Valentines for my son's kindergarten class.  I found these printables via Pinterest.  Here is the link to my Pin.

The boys and I had a blast glueing and making up the little bags of candies.  If took no time at all with the help of my 5 & 4 year old boys.

We decided to add some Disney/Pixar cards that my son had insisted on buying and we just stuck them to the back of the cards.  We substituted the little candy hearts with words for Hershey's Kisses.

The little bags were from dollarama (30/$1!) And SUPER CUTE!

Here are the finished products!

Slow Cooker Curry Vegetable Soup

Yesterday morning I was talking to a friend on the phone.  I was complaining about the food blahs, and how I never want to make supper... I am so sick of everything.  She said I should make soup.  I complained about that because making soup is so much work and so time consuming.  My friend reassured me that it is really not as much work as I thought, and that it would be a great idea to beat the blahs.

So.... Here it is!

Recipe:

1 can whole tomatoes (I mashed them a bit)

1 can black beans (rinsed well)
1 cup frozen corn
3 potatoes cubed
4 green onions diced
1 cup red lentils (uncooked)
1 cup baby spinach chopped
1 each yellow and orange pepper diced
2 cups of Epicure's Vegetable Bouillon, prepared
1 tbsp Epicure's Madras Curry
1 tsp Epicure's Minced Garlic

I added all the ingredients into my large CrockPot.  I added 3 cups of water to top it up.  Cooked on low for 10 hours.

This was delicious. It was hearty and healthy, and even the kids loved it.  You could add more curry, but I didn't want it too spicy for the little guys.

Enjoy!

I am an Independent Epicure Consultant, hence the use of the product in my soup.  :)

Please try it out!  Let me know how it turns out!

Sending Love to a Special Girl.

Today I want to share another Mama's blog.  It will bring tears to your eyes, and it has captured my heart.  I have been following Lifewithlol for quite some time now.  I am amazed by every update.  I smile, I cry and I feel connected to this blog if for no other reason than I have small children.

I first was introduced to this blog through a photographer friend's facebook, where she shared another photograhper's work with this family.  I was in tears in a matter of seconds, and I have followed Lifewithlol ever since.  I can't wait for the next post.

Here is a small thing that I have made to show my love & caring for sweet little Lauren.  I can't wait to send this to her, and make her day.  She has made so many of mine, and I have never even met her.  Her story has truly touched my heart, and I pray for her often.

Check out Lifewithlol.  Share a little love.

Just Keep Swimming....

Good evening!  Its getting late here but thanks to the little nap I had on the couch, I'm wide awake and thinking about a lot of things I'd like to get done in my house.

I'm going to start with this:  I'm a hoarder.  There.  I said it.  Well I'd like to clarify that I'm not the TV show calibre of hoarder.  My house is clean.  I take pride in a clean house.  I just have a LOT of stuff, and I have a hard time parting with anything!  Having said that, I am currently on a rampage through my entire house, de-cluttering, organizing, and yes.... getting rid of unwanted, unneeded stuff.

I have something that I like to call MADD... Momma Attention Deficit Disorder.  I get started on one project (my spare room) and I end up here and there throughout the house, not really accomplishing anything.  I have torn the spare room apart, organized the closet, decided I hated what I did with the closet, piled a bunch of my STUFF on the bed, and haven't been back in there in a week.  In the meantime, I started cleaning out the boys' closets, organizing my yarn stash, crocheting a scarf, crocheting a hat, and beginning Valentine crafts with the boys.  Oh, and I'm also on a major laundry reorganization thing also.

And my sewing machine is calling.  Poor guy hasn't even been looked at since the holidays.  I think he's collecting dust.

So I'm looking for organization help!  I've been searching other blogs for inspiration.  I have been compiling printables for creating a Household Organization binder, as well as cleaning routine checklists and other organizational goodies.  I will share those a little later.

My goal in all this, is to get my house into what I consider great shape before I head back to work in a few short months.  I feel like I'm overwhelmed by the amount of STUFF in here.  I think my new strategy should be one room at a time, and to stick to one job before starting others.

Wait a minute.... was that a shiny thing?  Let's try not to get so distracted by anything/everything else, shall we?

I think Dory said it best.... "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming... swimming... swimming..."

Here are some of the sites I have been searching for inspiration....
